Why do we work?

I am seeing many women are posting a picture of theirs on their Instagram stories by asking other women's to follow the same. This makes me wonder, what would be the thought process behind starting this moment. The conclusion I could draw is, everyone wants to be busy in this free time, by doing something or other. Tough my real conclusion is nuanced, considering the word limit here, I will keep this to myself. But this action tells us something very nuanced, and perhaps this is the best time to reflect on that thought—the thought of how 'we homo sapience' evolved over this period. Imagine us thousands year before, the era of 'pre-agricultural revolution'. How would we manage to function as a society, when there was nothing to get ourselves engaged- of course, apart from hunting and eating. In this time of self-quarantine, maybe we can reflect on the society we created, and reflect on the fact that why we function the way we functioned, why there is work in the first place. Perhaps, this is the time we should understand the idea of keeping people busy, and why the ruling class always wanted people active in doing something or, even, noting. The simple answer to this is to make society less chaotic, and we should live in peace. You can think about yours.
